Historic District
The colonial heart of the city around the State House, St. John's College and the Naval Academy: brick sidewalks, eighteenth-century houses and the harbor at the bottom of the hill.

Murray Hill
Late-Victorian and early twentieth-century houses on quiet streets just above downtown, a short walk from the Naval Academy gate and Main Street.

- Porches, picket fences and neighbors who know one another.

Eastport
The maritime neighborhood between Spa Creek and Back Creek: boatyards, yacht clubs and small restaurants, with downtown just over the bridge.

- Living there
- Sailing is the local language. Walk to dinner on either side of the creek.

Wardour and West Annapolis
Laid out in 1907 in the Olmsted manner, with curving streets and water on three sides from the Severn and College Creek.

- Community piers and beaches, mature trees, five minutes to downtown.

Annapolis Neck
Estate enclaves on Harness Creek and the South River, next to Quiet Waters Park, with some of the deepest private water near the city.

Bay Ridge and Annapolis Roads
Communities facing the open Chesapeake with beaches, marinas and the Bay Bridge on the horizon.

Gibson Island
A private, gated island community founded in 1921 and planned by the Olmsted Brothers, with about seven miles of shoreline, a club and a yacht squadron.

Edgewater and the South River
Waterfront communities along the South River and its creeks, from river cottages to large houses on deep water.

Severna Park and Round Bay
Bluffs and coves along the Severn, known for strong schools and long views up and down the river.
